Applewood Hills is one of the original neighborhoods of Mississauga. Situated in the Eastern part of Mississauga a large part was developed by Shipp and Son who built the original Applewood Public School in 1955.
The first mayor of the new City of Mississauga was Dr. Martin Dobkin who had his medical office located in Applewood Hills. Elected in 1974 he served on council with newcomer Hazel McCallion, the present long standing mayor of Mississauga.
Real estate in Applewood Hills tends to be 1060's and 70's vintage detached ranch bungalows and 2 storey homes. Semi-detached and townhouses can also be found here in limited numbers.
Prices start at a little over $200,000 for a condominium and go to the $600's for detached homes.
